World renowned Pianist Jonathan Biss opens the Bangor Symphony Orchestra’s 130th season
BANGOR, Maine – The Bangor Symphony Orchestra will be presenting the first
Masterworks concert in their 130th Season, welcoming pianist Jonathan Biss to the Collins Center stage performing Johannes Brahms’ Piano Concerto No. 2 in B-flat major, Op. 83 on September 28 at 3pm at the Collins Center for the Arts, conducted by the BSO Music Director and Conductor Lucas Richman. The concert will open with two rarely-played masterpieces: Emil Nikolaus von Rezniček’s Donna Diana Overture and the Symphony in B-flat, Op. 20 by Ernest Chausson.

“We are thrilled to welcome pianist Jonathan Biss back to the BSO stage,” said Music Director and Conductor Lucas Richman. “This concerto is a significant masterpiece that hones in on the universal humanity which lies at the center of music by Brahms. The other works on the program complement the concerto’s sense of looking beyond one’s self, seeing the vast world outside that invites us to take a journey abroad.”
This concert is part of the Bangor Symphony Orchestra’s 2025-2026 Season Subscription Package. Single tickets, starting at $18, are available at the Collins Center Ticket Website or by calling (207) 581-1755.
