Virtuosic Flutist Anthony Trionfo brings Mozart to the BSO

BANGOR, Maine – For Immediate Release – January 12, 2026 – The Bangor Symphony Orchestra (BSO) will present the third Masterworks concert in its 130th Season at 3 pm on Sunday, Feb. 1 at the Collins Center for the Arts in Orono. The BSO will be joined by flutist Anthony Trionfo performing Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Flute Concerto No. 1 in G Major. The concert will open with Ellis Ludwig-Leone’s North Woods, a World Premiere written for the BSO with an award from the Ellis-Beauregard Foundation (EBF), and will conclude with Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 6 in F major, Op. 68, “Pastorale”. This concert will be conducted by Grammy-Award winning BSO Music Director and Conductor Lucas Richman.

Mr. Trionfo was the First Prize Winner of the 2016 YCA Susan Wadsworth International Auditions, and has collaborated with the ProMusica Chamber Orchestra, Edmonton Symphony, Grand Park Festival Orchestra, Orchestra of St. Luke’s, and Santa Fe Pro Musica, among numerous others. His performances have taken him to Columbia, Brazil, and the U.S.

This concert’s Commission Partner is the Ellis-Beauregard Foundation (EBF), an organization preserving the legacy of the founding artists, John Beauregard and David Ellis, by offering resources and providing funding for artists, while continuing to foster community connection.  The winner of the 2024 Composer Award, Ellis Ludwig-Leone, will premiere his new work North Woods, with inspiration taken from the Daniel Mason book of the same name. This is the final year of the EBF Composer Award.
