Studying music theory is studying the foundational language of music. Music theory knowledge deepens a musician’s understanding and appreciation of compositions. It leads to improved performances and better interpretation of music.
This online course aims to provide students with a foundational knowledge of music theory. We welcome ages 8-18, however we recommend students be at least middle school age or older. Taught by University of Maine Professor, Rebecca Mallory, with guest composition speakers including Maestro Lucas Richman, Beth Wiemann and more!
