THE BANGOR SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA PRESENTS DISNEY TIM BURTON’S THE
NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS IN CONCERT LIVE-TO-FILM
Conducted by Lucas Richman
October 26 at 3 pm
The Bangor Symphony Orchestra will present Disney Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before
Christmas in Concert Live-to-Film at the Collins Center for the Arts on the University of Maine
campus on October 26th, at 3:00 pm. The event will feature the contemporary holiday classic on
the big screen in full symphonic glory with GRAMMY®-winning composer Danny Elfman’s
musical score performed live to the film by the Bangor Symphony Orchestra and led by Music
Director and Conductor Lucas Richman.
Pre-concert activities will begin at 2:00 pm and will include a costume contest,
Spooky-Mask-Making table, String-O’-Garland table, and coloring station. Food and drink will be
available on site at Miller’s Café, which will feature specialty items for purchase, such as “Oogie
Boogie Punch”: a mocktail with lemon-lime Kool-Aid, Sprite & lemonade, topped with gummy
worms.
First released in 1993, Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas was directed by Henry
Selick (James and the Giant Peach) and based on a story and characters by Tim Burton. Bored
with the same old scare-and-scream routine, Pumpkin King Jack Skellington longs to spread the
joy of Christmas. But his merry mission puts Santa in jeopardy and creates a nightmare for good
little boys and girls everywhere.
Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas in Concert Live-to-Film is presented by the
Bangor Symphony Orchestra. For tickets and further information, visit
