BSYO Spring Concert in Hampden, Sunday April 2nd

The Bangor Symphony Youth Orchestras (BSYO) will present their spring concert on Sunday, April 2nd at 4 p.m. at the Hamdpen Academy Auditorium. The concert will feature performances by the Prelude String Orchestra, the Prelude Wind Ensemble, and the Philharmonic Orchestra, led by conductors Sascha Zaburdaeva and Trevor Marcho.

The April 2nd concert will conclude the BSYO’s 2016-17 season, which saw membership rise to over 100 young musicians from across Central Maine. Sunday’s program will include a range of works, from Beethoven to Tchaikovsky to John Williams. Graduating seniors will also be recognized during the concert, and attendees are encouraged to stay afterwards for a reception.

Through a continuing partnership with BSYO season sponsor Dead River Company and the Good Shepherd Food-Bank, the concert will also be a food drive, dubbed “A Symphony of Cereal.” Audience members are asked to bring donations of cereal to the event for the Good Shepherd Food Bank, which serves more than 100 local agencies in Penobscot County. Dead River Company is joined by TD Bank as a 2016-17 season sponsor of the BSYO.

Doors will open at 3:30 p.m. A donation of $5/person is encouraged upon admission. Information at bangorsymphony.org/bsyo.
