Bangor Symphony Orchestra’s Young People’s Concerts

Bangor, ME — The Bangor Symphony Orchestra led by GRAMMY award-winning Music Director and Conductor Lucas Richman will be welcoming more than 2,000 students from the greater Bangor area to the Collins Center for the Arts to experience the symphony live! The program will feature Benjamin Britten’s Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra, narrated by Penobscot Theatre Company’s Artistic Director, Jen Shepard. Additional music by Galbraith, Purcell, Algar, and Strauss will be showcased, with John Williams’ exciting Liberty Fanfare concluding the program. 

As winner of the Maine High School Concerto Competition, cellist Ronan Sands of Eddington will be featured as a soloist with the orchestra, where he will be performing the first movement of Edward Elgar’s Cello Concerto.
