BANGOR, ME [Dec. 16, 2025] – The Bangor Symphony Orchestra (BSO) presents The Nutcracker with Robinson Ballet and Bangor Area Youth Choirs at the Collins Center for the Arts. Three performances are scheduled for the weekend of Dec. 20 – 21 will be led by GRAMMY-winning conductor and BSO Musical Director Lucas Richman as the live symphony orchestra will take audiences on a journey into Tchaikovsky’s world of dreams, dance, and delights.
“This time-honored tradition is fun for the entire family,” says BSO Executive Director Renia Shterenberg. “Collaborating with local ballet and choir and having a full, live symphony orchestra in the pit makes this an extra-special event. The talent that is right here in our hometown is amazing! If you’re looking for a little holiday cheer, this is definitely the event to attend!”
The BSO and Robinson Ballet teaming up for the holiday tradition dates back to 1984, when BSO Conductor Werner Torkanowsky and Robinson Ballet Founder Ralph Robinson decided to join forces to bring a full production of the beloved work to the Bangor region.
Performances will take place at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 20, and at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 21. The BSO’s Nutcracker store will be open in the lobby before, after, and during intermission of each show and will sell gifts and nutcrackers, alongside warm cocoa and cookies available for purchase at the Miller Cafe.
Tickets are available through the Collins Center Box Office. Call (207) 581-1755 or visit the Collins Center website.
