With deep regret, Midori has had to withdraw from her Orchestra Residencies Program in Bangor, Maine due to illness. The BSO Masterworks Concert on Sunday, Feb. 1 will continue at 3 p.m. with guest soloist Jason Posnock. All BSYO residency events, including the Jan. 30 Master Class and Jan. 31 BSYO Concert, have been cancelled. Learn more

UPDATE (1/28/15):
It is with deep regret that violinist Midori is having to withdraw from her Bangor residency and concerts for medical reasons. The BSO is pleased to announce that violinist Jason Posnock will perform Bach’s famous Concerto for Two Violins with student soloists Julia Malcolm (Trenton), Brandon and Colin Aponte (Brooklin), and Will Somes (Cherryfield) from the Bangor Symphony Youth Orchestras. Two powerful works by Finnish composer Jean Sibelius open and close this inspiring program led by the BSO’s Grammy Award-winning Music Director and Conductor Lucas Richman.

In March, the BSO tackles two pillars of the repertoire: Rachmaninoff's lush and romantic Piano Concerto No. 3 and Shostakovich's powerful Symphony No. 6. Pianist Norman Krieger joins us for the Rachmaninoff in what is sure to be a performance to remember.
