The Bangor Symphony Orchestra has been providing live music for the people of Bangor since 1896 and hasn't missed a season since. From Beethoven to Tchaikovsky, old and new, the Bangor Symphony has something for everyone this season. The Bangor Symphony begins its 114th season in October 2009 with its classical series of music, holiday favorites and summer POPS programs.

For 28 years the Bangor Symphony Orchestra has been encouraging and recognizing the outstanding talents of Maine’s high school instrumentalists. We invite you to become a part of this long history...
Open to all Maine high school students, the competition offers each year's winners the chance of a lifetime - to perform with the full Bangor Symphony Orchestra for thousands of students and teachers at the Youth Concerts in May. This year's Maine High School Concerto Competition is set for Saturday, February 20, 2010 at 1:00p.m., Minsky Recital Hall, School of Performing Arts, University of Maine. Snow date is February 21

You'll also be recognized with a cash prize.
First Place : Annas-Cupp Award ($500)
Second Place : Friends of the Symphony Award ($250)
Third Place : Friends of the Symphony Award ($150)
Honorable Mention : Friends of the Symphony Award ($50)
