2008 - 2009 Season Schedule
The Bangor Symphony Orchestra has been providing live music for the people of Bangor since 1896 and hasn't missed a season since. From Beethoven to Tchaikovsky, old and new, the Bangor Symphony has something for everyone this season. The Bangor Symphony begins its 113th season in late September, 2008 with its classical series of music, holiday favorites and summer POPS programs.
The Bangor Symphony Orchestra was founded in 1896, and we haven't missed a season since, making BSO the oldest continuously operating community orchestra in the U.S.
Auditions are held every spring and fall, and you can find the dates, times and locations right here, or through local newspapers and radio stations.

Auditions: September 20th
Open positions: principal viola; horn 4; contracted seats in violin, viola, cello sections; and substitute positions in all sections
General information Under the direction of Xiao-Lu Li, the BSO season includes six classical concerts, three youth concerts, two performances of the Spirit of Bangor, summer POPS and other special events.
We pay our contracted musicians on a per service basis, including mileage and housing arrangements.
